We are so excited to announce that our little yegcider is growing into Prairie North Cider Co!
Over the last few years, we have been waiting for the right time to turn our hobby into a business and now is the time to take that leap!
We will continue to rescue local fruit and create experimental cider inspired by the distinct flavours and culture of the prairies. The Prairie North brand allows us to make the cider that we are so proud of and invest back into our communities through our time, energy, and profits.
If all goes well with the build, permitting, and licensing, we will be launching in a space in central Edmonton in the coming months and hope to be making cider for you this fall.
But don’t say goodbye to yegcider just yet…
Because we couldn’t bare to part with it, we will be launching a cider made entirely of local fruit that will carry on the yegcider name.
We will continue to use #yegcider to promote a reduction of food waste, to embrace local fruit, and to encourage the development of great craft cidermakers and cider drinkers in Alberta.
Stay tuned for all the juicy details
We have been busy behind the scenes building connections with other local food and drink businesses, community groups, and non-profits. Over the next few months, we will have some exciting announcements about some of our partnerships, fruit donation & charity cider program, and our cider club!
